So there you are at ESPN Zone, simultaneously watching the Red Sox decimate the Injins, the O's spank Canadians, the Nats struggle against the Pirates and The Unit's spectacular meltdown. You're realxing, drinking what can conservatively be called a bucket of Guiness, when suddenly you feel uneasy, like there's someone standing directly behind you. And you turn, and that someone is wearing a ridiculous, poorly articulated costume of a bald eagle in a baseball uniform.

From the Nosebleed Section

Ok, so this is shot of last night's action (Nats 7, A's 2) from my sister's seats at RFK. She got one of those on-the-cheap packages for a certain number of games. I think the next tier up actually doubles in price and she wasn't ready to make that kind of commitment. Anyway, I don't care so much about the high up, because you do get an outstanding view of the whole infield, and you can see the angles that are not so apparent down close. However, as you can see here, these seats have one major problem. In fact, fans of Jose Guillen's fielding need not apply. Can you guess where most of the Nats' big hits went, including Brian Schneider's homer and Ryan Church's homer and triple? What? Right field did you say? Lucky we could see those replays on the Jumbotron. Oh wait, these seats also have a terrible angle on the Jumbotron. Alas. Maybe next time they'll all hit to left. On the bright side, we did have a clear view of Loaiza's lackadaisical base-running and the glare of the stadium lights off the A's dorky white shoes.

Next on the baseball photoblog, Cubs v. Red Sox, Wrigley Field. Stay tuned!

By the way, I haven't seen any Soviet art around town lately, but I ride by bike in from Virginia. Clearly, those posters are targeted at the commies commuting from Maryland on the MARC.

Night Game at RFK

In the interest of equal time for the National League, here is a phone pic from last week's Nats-Braves game which they won 8-6. That's our man Vinnie Castilla at the plate. Later on, a whole family of Braves fans sat in the empty seats in front of us, proving the old adage, "The family that does the tomohawk chop together stays together!"

Mother's Day at Camden Yards

In response to the request for "more visuals" I have set up a free Flickr account, which allows me to easily post photos to the blog. Just testing it out here. This is a picture I took on my camera phone on May 8. Although the O's fell to the Royals (!) the Bird was able to find his missing mother sitting in the stands a few rows in front of us.

I recommend you all get Flickr accounts and blog from baseball games.
